Yes. The default for £242 is correct. A settled default is better than an unsettled one though but, from what you say, the £75 default should be removed

Many thanks to both conmankiler and maxsteam for your replies I will contact BG immediately, is this correct that they record a default on my credit file after paying the ccj.

    Re: British Gas Debt

You need to write to BG customer services asking for their kind written agreement that the now settled default and the adverse report that was unfairly recorded, can be removed early from your credit references.

Explain the simple administrative error and the apology they provided you with, once you have their written permission you need to forward copies of the letter onto the relevant credit reference agencies requesting the early removal of the default.

    Re: British Gas Debt

Your credit record should show a default (now settled) and CCJ for £242. If you asked British Gas to review their files and correct the credit record, the £75 default should be removed.

    British Gas Debt

I received a county court judgement thanks to british gas for £242 in which I paid off immediately, however they then said

that I owed them a further £75 which was not true. I contacted the CAB who then spoke to british gas inwhich they said I owed nothing and apologised for saying I owed £75. They sent me a letter in post stating apologise for any inconvenience caused, and have still defaulted me stated on my credit file for £242 then £75 underneath, can I get this removed as I paid the ccj immediately for £242. many thanks
