You need to insurance the car and caravan separately (or get the best quotes). If you are going to use it abroad shop around. Check and see how many day abroad insurance companies allow....some 30, some 90 days.

If you want more than that try Towergate (I found them the best), as they wrote me a special policy for a full 365 days abroad cover, and very reasonable (Go through Swinton if its easier)

If you want breakdown cover in UK and Europe use ADAC......brilliant and a fraction of the cost of AA or RAC, especially for European cover..

Sorry I can't help you any further on the issue as I am just looking into it now and sure you have found someone with a few more brain cells to give you an adult response by now! Just felt the need to say how sad some people are - if he has nothing helpful to offer on the subject why click on it - he must just go round putting sad responses on peoples post coz he has no life - loser! I feel better now!

My dad has just got his first caravan and doesn't know what his best option would be for breakdown cover?

Does he insure himself?

The car?

The caravan?
