Thankfully, I was coverd. I went with the aa and called their european breakdown number. They said that they wouldn't be able to repair it quickly enough for us to get home, they tried their best but the old banger had just had it, but a few calls later and we were offered to be towed home all the way on the ferry back home so it worked out pretty well in the end. I'm just glad to be home with the kids!
