    Re: Blu credit cards!?

If you have a bad credit record, you can have a credit card if you lie on the application form or if you persuade a close friend to get you a "second cardholder" card.

Otherwise anyone can get a prepaid card if they pay the fees, but these are not credit cards.

Personally I feel very strongly that people whose marketing is specifically aimed to con poor people out of money and give nothing in return should be put behind bars.

    Re: Blu credit cards!?

Hi Pete -- I assume that your retort was aimed at maxsteam's comments. ?

Otherwise, although I have not used them (Blu) or luckily have never had the need to, I appreciate there are people who have no other choice but to take a chance.......but usually any company demanding upfront fees in order to obtain services that you are able to do for yourself, from history on here, does not usually represent good value or security for the money invested.

Have a look at other threads on this forum, particularly about loan brokers who want upfront fees of similar amounts, then see how people who have parted with hard earned money have been treat and you will hopefully understand my angle on my particular small comment. !

I usually spend the majority of my time advising or helping these poor people to secure the return of their monies from unscrupulous companies, who try to keep the money and provide no service in return.

    Re: Blu credit cards!?

how can someone who hasnt used their service before try to brand company's like their all the same? At least my opinion is based on fact as ive actually used them before. Also the comment you made in regards to customers being able to do it themselves, yea well mayb if every customer knew the lending criteria to mortgage companies, loans and credit cards then there would never be any need for brokers, but that statement goes for everything. why use a mechanic when you 'could potentially' fix your car yourself for free.. people pay because people dont know how to do it themselves lol. Well i paid £24.99 and got what i paid for so i was happy with the company.

    Re: Blu credit cards!?

They offer two services. One is that they will apply for a credit card on behalf of customers for a fee. They can do no more than customers could do for themselves in this respect and they charge a fee for doing it. The other service is a pre-paid card which is many times more expensive than the Post Office Travel Money card. Another forum describes their services as fraudulent. Personally I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

    Re: Blu credit cards!?

i have actually used Blu Credit Cards recently, i was abit jubvious about doing this having previously paid 'brokers fees' for loans which i have never got or seen the money back that i paid for the fee. I have applied to all the normal high street credit cards and have never been accepted. Im not too sure about pre-payment cards, But Blu Credit Cards got me accepted for a visa credit card which i never thought would happen as im so used to getting declined now lol. i have already recommended Blu Credit Cards to a few friends who also have the same credit problem as me.

    Re: Blu credit cards!?

    I've not heard of them.

Is it an application fee, like the loan application fees, where you pay the fee in return for a vague promise that they will manage to get you a credit card or is it a pre-payment card? If it's a prepayment card you should look at the Post Office Travel Money Card as it costs a lot less.
