    Between jobs

    Hi

I've recently been made redundant and lost my company car. I now have a new car but am still between jobs. To insure my car do I state unemployed or my usual job role?

    Thanks

To be certain, you should say "unemployed <job title>" and then, when you start your next job, pay a fee for a policy change and drop the word "unemployed". Personally I would be inclined to just state the usual job title.

Ouch! Ignore that in it's entirety.

If you are unemployed and have a claim, you will have given false details to your insurance company especially where they rely on this for the purposes of producing the correct premium. Similarly if you change occupation within the insurance period you should inform the insurers. Think about the commuting / business use section of the policy.

I said what should be done and what I would do. The thing is that I wouldn't make a claim even if the car was stolen.
