    Re: Best Package

    Hi Jason

Thanks for the advice - you are correct - I want 2-8Mb with free evening & weekend UK landline calls and preferably a wireless router.

Just one part you didn't explain though.  Where do I stand with line rental? As I explained, I have had BT re-connnect the line (in theory - still can't use it!) as TalkTalk said they couldn't do this without an existing number. As I now have to have the line rental with BT for 12 months, would the Virgin Media Unlimited Talk 1 package be best?

    Thanks

    Yvette

    Hi Yvette

I'm guessing you want an up to 8Mb product with free UK landline calls?

If so then yes, you can get Talk Talk - for you Talk 3 International is the best deal for £9.99 a mth for up to 8Mb/unlimited broadband and free UK landline calls and landline calls to 28 countries.

Other deals which are also well worth considering with up to 8Mb speed and free UK landline calls are:

    Direct Save Telecom Option 4 - £16.95 a mth

    PIPEX Mini Anytime - £19 a mth

Virgin Media Unlimited Talk 1 - £19.99 a mth, also comes with free wireless router and optional Freeview box on top for £40 - personally this is the 2nd best deal after Talk Talk.

    Cheers

    Re: Best Package

    Hi Jason

I have just been directed to your site in an attempt to understand what is the best package for line rental/phone/broadband and found this thread best matched my question. I too am looking for the best deal but have received conflicting advice so far.

Last week I moved into a flat and contacted TalkTalk for their package. They informed me that as I could not provide a telephone number, they were unable to offer me anything despite there being a disconnected line to the flat. They told me to contact BT and have the line re-connected and phone back when I have the number. I asked what would happen to my contract with BT and they said not to worry, they would take it over at no cost to me. I contacted BT who said they could not trace a landline previously in the flat and I would have to pay £124.99 but they would ring me back with a date. A week later, I had heard nothing from BT so contacted Ofcom for advice.  They said that if I proceeded the way I was planning, BT would just cut me off and charge me £70 to leave their contract. Basically I HAVE to sign up with BT to get my number  so I have just contacted them and arranged re-connection and just line rental with them.

Getting back to the thread from Ric and your response, you said that TalkTalk can provide the line. As they told me they couldn't and I will have the line with BT from tomorrow (hopefully!) can I still get a TalkTalk package or is there a better option out there for me? Postcode CH43 5XG .

    Thanks

    Yvette

    Hi Ric 1985

The good is that you can get Talk Talk in your location, and they're right, if you want to save the most money getting set up for broadband then Talk Talk is the best deal.

I reccommend you consider Talk 2 International which from £5.89 a mth for up to 8Mb broadband is a steal - they will also install the phone line for you.

    Cheers

    Jason

    Re: Best Package

Hi Try Talk Talk, I have found them the best deal, I went onto their website and applied direct at present it is costing me 21.00 a month and with that I get free calls all day every day to UK/National numbers, free modem and if you check some areas are free broadband area, landline is included in this price and they have a 1000.00 price promise where if there prices increase you get 1000.00.  Connection for me was 29.99, worth a try.

    Best Package

    Hi guys,

I have recently moved into a new flat.

The phone line was disconnected to the flat about 6 years ago.

My question is what is the best package to get line connected, phone and broadband?

Do i have to connect with bt for line and calls, then get a boardband package? or can someone do line, calls and broadband for a decent price?

My post code is KY12 0QR

    Cheers Richard
