Me too, but without the ISA. Good deal for the first £1000.

Is the ISA 10% as well?

    Thanks Andy

We have found a good account at Alliance & Leicester. It has a current account to pay your wages into but has an attached ISA which pays 10% - a fantastic rate of interest if you can leave some money sitting there.

Re: best current and savings accounts for a 17 year old

    Hi there,

I'm 17 as well, and i'm really struggling as well because most of the adult savings accounts are for people aged 18 years or above. Therefore, i can't get the best interest rate at the moment (6.5% with Kaupthing).

The only alternative I have found is Yorkshire BS (5.75%), i don't think it's the highest savings account for us young'uns but it offers free withdrawals and a cash card.

But as soon as i hit 18 i'll transfer it to a higher one.

    Hope that helped

    Andy

    Hi gran

If you click on the purple money tab above, then click on savings; fill in the details and you will have a good comparison to help you make your decision.

best current and savings accounts for a 17 year old

My grandson has just started work. What savings account pays the highest interest and what current account would give him the best deal to make the most of his, as yet, limited income. Thank you
