    Re: Beepy.co.uk

I ordered my Land Rover S1 phone from Beepy in January this year, with the added 'bonus' of a G4 orange Land Rover branded bike for my son. The phone arrived straight away with no problem, but the gift needed to be claimed by redemption. After several emails asking the whereabouts of my bike after sending the documentation in, this was the first response I got:
"I have today heard from the dispatch company that the bike you have ordered has been discontinued, this is what has caused the slight delay. I have arranged for the 2010 modal to come out to you, I have been informed that this is of equal specification to the bike you ordered"
Fair enough I thought, I can wait a few weeks, even though the replacement bike is a different colour. When I had not heard anything a few weeks later, I asked if there was any update on my order and got this response:
"We have contacted our supplier regarding this who have advised that the bike will be back in stock during May, if you would like an alternative please choose from the below"
So I selected an alternative from the list. Although it turns out that the alternative Land Rover boys bike offered was also out of stock until mid-May (not much of an alternative eh?) So I decided to wait until the bike came into stock in May. When it had still not arrived by the 21st June, I was offered a 20" bike instead. For a 3 year old boy. I politely declined this offer and opted to wait for the original bike.
I was then offered two cash alternatives, the highest of which was £78, which as the bike sells for £125, I declined. I was then told that I could wait until the bike came into stock in August which I reluctantly accepted.
I got this email from Beepy today:
" Dear Mr Hart, I have received a further update from our suppliers and I have been advised that the blue Bravo bike has now been discontinued and that we can only supply the Orange version and this will be available mid September"
So it now seems that the original colour I ordered is the one that is now available again but I have to wait until mid-September for it.
The really annoying thing about all of this is that I could have one of these bikes within 24 hours from numerous online suppliers.
I feel that Beepy have conned me by offering a gift that they have no intention of supplying, which amounts to false advertising. The only reason that I bought this phone from Beepy was due to the gift they were offering. I am currently in the process of contacting Trading Standards about this issue.

    Re: Beepy.co.uk

I hadn't read this forum when I bought from beepy in Novemebr. i am sort of glad I didn't, my experience was tops. The deals are great the website fast as hell and it didn't break. This is the first time I have done one of these, and like the credit crunch the world is full of bad news. Well here is some good. The phone arrived on the deal as promised, as did the gift, as did the cashback.

    Top job

b2b you should cancel your direct debit mandate through your bank and write recorded delivery letters to

    Beepy.co.uk
    Shebang Distribution
    4 Church Street
    Warsop
    NG20 0AH

    and

    Beepy
    5 Acorn Business Park
    Commercial Gate
    Mansfield
    Nottinghamshire
    NG18 1EX

In the letters you should state what has happened, as you have described above. You should state that, as no return address has been given, you are using the address on the website (the 1st one) and the registered address for the domain beepy.co.uk (the 2nd one) in the hope that the letter reaches them.

It is quite possible that, in time, you will not get a reply to your letters but you may well receive correspondence relating to the payments that have not been made. When this happens, you should simply produce copies of the letter with recorded delivery details and say that you are still waiting for the matter to be dealt with. They may then try to bully you into paying and you should, at that stage, say that you are happy to go before a magistrate and let the court decide the matter.

Oh dear, why do I never look for posts like this before I order stuff?

Ordered a Samsung phone as a Christmas present, complete with 18 month contract. Phone arrived, but a week after opening had developed a fault and Samsung said to return it.

Phoned beepy who arranged a doorstep swap for the following Tuesday. Took a day off work, only to get a phone call at 11am saying the phone was out of stock and wouldn't be coming today. (Guess I was lucky I got that call, eh?)

As they couldn't say when a new phone would be available they agreed to refund and cancel the contract (it sounds easy but it took a lot of wrangling). Janet promised to call back each time and she never did

Discussed this on another forum and they said to check the contract had been cancelled - it hadn't. The phone company was unsurprised as beepy is known to them. Called back and Janet said to return the phone first. Told her to put it in writing and she asked if an email was alright. Said yes but she never sent it.

In fact, sitting here today wondering whether to return it, I realise I haven't been given a return reference or a return address. I guess that will be a few more days delay while I try to get that but I don't think I should risk it without, even if I send recorded delivery.

I've had a really bad Christmas for online shopping, so I'm massively experienced in the returns process. The High Street is beginning to look very attractive again

    Re: Beepy.co.uk

    Dreadful!!

Ordered a Samsung phone purely for the free Nintendo Wii and Gaming Projector - at £25 a month for 24 months - £600 total..

That I can cope with.. What I couldn't cope with is the absolutely shocking customer service and process. First of all they messed up my order and didn't send the claim form for the Wii, only the projector - so I called to be told that they can't send a claim form for it out and I should just write on the projector form that I'm entitled to the Wii when I send it in.

Luckily I had the order reference email which stated the free gifts I was entitled to, so be sure to keep that (wait, I'm not advocating buying from these guys at all!)

So, when my first bill arrivedI duly paid it straight away and sent all the details to Beepy - including a note that said please call or email using my details I left on the form, to let me know you have received - no call so I called them to confirm - they said I'm not entitled to a Wii - I told them I was and that I spoke to X on XX day who told me to do all that crazy stuff with the form.

28 days after that, no Wii - so I called again to find out where it is - "we'll call you back in a while" and no call back - so I called back again "we'll call you back" no call - so third time I asked for a supervisor - David, who literally promised that he would call me back on Monday (it was Friday around 5:30pm) and no call came again.

So, I sent a letter to the Managing Director by recorded delivery, the next day I got my first ever call from Beepy, a supervisor called Janet who questioned why I had sent a letter in (well, let's face it, I got a call from you eh!) and that I had to wait until the following Wednesday, and if it hadn't turned up then she would "personally take on my case and get it sorted" - I told her "this is the first call I had from them, after having spent 5 hours of my own time and money contacting them, and said thank you, one call in all this time, just one call after being promised by no less than 4 different people would have placated me", instead they don't get in touch and it leaves people really riled up.

Wednesday came, no Wii, but left it until Friday for Chrismtas post delays sake - the projector turned up on Friday - no Wii - so once again a call went in to Beepy and I was told that I wasn't entitled to a Wii - "READ THE F****** NOTES ON MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I'M SICK OF HAVING TO RE-TELL THE SAME STORY OVER AND OVER" - "oh dear" he said, "well i'll have to (you guessed it) call you back"

No call once again - so I'm fuming, once more - then today I called to be told that as the Wii had been processed on the 24th november (only 2 1/3 months already late!) that it would be with me before Christmas - I'm now waiting on a call back from Janet - though I won't hold my breath..

    Overall:

    Friendliness 4/10
    Customer Service 2/10
    Call-backs 0/10
    Supervisor IQ - 1/10
    Speed of delivery (phone) 8/10
Speed of delivery (free gift) 0/10

    Re: Beepy.co.uk

I bought a phone from them in June. The phone arrived ok, but not the claim forms for the Wii and Wii fit. I had to call 3 or 4 times until they bothered to send the forms. Without them you can't get the gift...and you have to do all this in 90 days I think. Then you have to wait for the second phone bill that shows you have paid the first one. I sent a bank statement and the first phone bill and that was ok. Problem is that I have not received the wii fit yet as they said they don't have them in stock. They are still on the website, as if they have them, but if you call they tell you they are not in stock. I have been waiting since august and nothing. I got them to send the Wii console alone. today I called and the guy that answered the phone said that he could not check my order as they had a power cut. This is the kind of company they are. I would not use them if I was you.

    Re: Beepy.co.uk

They have not made it into these forums until today but there are a lot of bad experiences with other retailers who offered cashback deals on phones. Usually the cashbacks didn't get paid and the customer was left with an expensive contract with one of the mobile providers while the retailer concerned went bust.

I am not impressed that the website does not tell you exactly who beepy.co.uk are. The site does currently say that "Beepy.co.uk is a trading division of: Shebang Distribution, 4 Church Street, Warsop, NG20 0AH" but there is no name of the individual or (limited) company that you are dealing with. A whois lookup for the domain doesn't reveal much. Beepy and Shebang are just trading names. Personally I would want to see either the name of the individual or the name and registration number of the limited company that I was dealing with clearly displayed on the web site before even considering a purchase. Other retailers can manage this.

My personal advice is to shop elsewhere.

    Beepy.co.uk

Are there any reviews for this company?

They have some good offers but I am concerned about how honest they are with delivering the promised gifts, and with cashbacks.

Looking forward to hearing from you
