    Hi,

sorry if this response is late. It may not be a full bank account, but if you cant get anything else you could go to cashplus.co.uk. It is a prepaid credit card but it allows bank transfers, wages going in and they do a card specifically for business. It is a guaranteed acceptance, no credit checks, just a place to store your money. Worth having a look at if you cant get anything else.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your new venture xxx

Hi sorry if this answer came a bit too late.

There isn't such a thing as basic business account, and You really aren't supposed to use your personal account for business use. Having said that try to speak to your personal banker and see what they advise, and if they refuse to open an account, then start using your personal account for business purposes and that would twist their arm into opening a business account for you I tried that and it did work for me with HSBC, good luck

Re: Basic Business Bank Account - I have a poor credit rating.

i have a current account with HSBC and a halifax current account, i need a business account and it appears that there is no such thing as a a basic business account. Every account I apply for requires credit checks and when i tell them a bit about my history, they advise that it WILL be declined and leave a further negative on my credit rating. It is illegal to use a personal account for a limited company account.

If you are in work,or you are on pension credit etc, and can pay money in on a regular basis, there is an account that cost's £14.50-per month, this payment covers all the cost of banking and also includes a debit card, this A/C is also for people with bad credit ratings.Just go to your search box and type in think banking and click search and just follow the instructions.Good luck.

Basic Business Bank Account - I have a poor credit rating.

I need a basic business bank account for a limited company. I do not need any credit or overdraught, I have a contract ready to start which will take me 3 months to complete and cover all of the business running costs for the next 3 years! I was turned down for a business account due to an outstanding debt (which i am paying off as quickly as i can) but i cant find any bank that will let me open a no frills account that i can just use for the day to day running of the business. The fact that i was declined an account has had further negative impact on my credit rating and i am fearful of making further applications (atleast for the next few months) unless i have confidence that i will get an account. I have written to my MP (David Cameron) who has passed my enquiry on to Mark Prisk MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise.

I have tried explaining to my bank (who i have banked with for 29 years) that i only require somewhere to legally pay in business cheques which will allow me to pay off my debts far quicker than staying in my current job.

It is all rather frustrating and i am almost at the point where i am considering getting a family member to replace me as the director of the business in the short term just to enable the account to be opened... but this seems very short sighted and underhand.

    Any suggestions?
