    bank charges

I think my bank are due to charge me 3 lots of £25.00 for debit card payments amounting to £26.50, my tax credits are due to go into bank a/c tomorrow but will be all used up if bank charges go out leaving me & children with no money for a week, do I have any right to ask bank not to take these charges and leave me with no money????

Please advise cos I am tearing my hair out!!!!!!!

    Re: bank charges

Banks are not supposed to deduct charges from any benefits that are intended for the purpose of a vulnerable person or children.

Contact the bank supervisor / manager and remind them of this fact informing them they would be acting in breach of the banking codes of practice and the social security acts, if they decide to deduct any monies intended for the children from your account. However, you will probably be expected to come to some other form of arrangement to eventually repay them.
