At what stage of an Amazon sale that was wrongly listed are they legally forced to follow through with the sale?

This link may help you to decide. Dependent upon the wording of the email acceptance they have returned to you, the contract may now be considered legally binding despite the price.

Think the sale transaction has to be fully completed with you receiving the goods. But you could check with consumer direct about this. I am not sure just having a dispatch note is good enough, as the laptop never actually left the sellers premises.

I've recently read up on Amazon's (and others') ability to get out of an online sale whereby the product was listed at the wrong price due to a technical fault. I did this after I purchased a laptop for 1p on Amazon marketplace in the UK.

I did find some (fairly dated) material that said if they send you an email confirming the dispatch of your item, they are then obliged to fullfill the order.

    Is this true?

I'm not expecting to receive the item (i don't really know why I purchased it in the first place!) , but I'm interested to find out exactly what the rules are if anybody knows.

    Thanks for any information.
