Re: Don't get a domain, get a MAC

"We thrive on feedback and that feedback drives our business. Public engagement of our customer base is one of the things which makes us stand out from the crowd....  email does not form part of our business model"

Ha! I presume that public forums are much more appropriate? And telephone calls are accountable and recordable in a much easier manner by me?

It's you who proposed that I engage in a reasonable manner, yet my offer of a communication is dismissed for no good reason. I don't propose to waste any more of other people's time dismissing your other points here when you are so intransigent; suffice to say, I consider your position ludicrous.

Re: Don't get a domain, get a MAC

I've been with Force9 (part of PlusNet) for over 10 years, and in all that time I've never had cause to complain. The issues with the eMail platform was very furstrating, but on the whole just about bearable, and now it appears resolved I'm back to being a very happy customer. I've always found their communication to be prompt, accurate, helpful and straight to the point.

    Hi Chris

A week or so ago I was having terrible problems with eBay - to cut a long story short they changed my password to protect me against a hacker, and I had to request a link to be sent to me to enable me to restore my account. After 24 very frustrating hours of receiving truncated password eMails from eBay that were cut short and therefore of no use to me, I had the brainwave of logging into my webmail to see if there was a problem. It seems as thought your new webmail system cuts the eMail short before delivering it to my entourage inbox, as the email that was waiting for me was complete with the necessary link I needed to activate my account, whereas the other 8 emails I'd received into entourage had been cut short. Perhaps you guys should be aware of this? Possibly this is the anti-spam filter at work?

    Cheers

     Jamie

So the email was appearing correct in webmail but was being truncated in entourage?

If you could raise a ticket through http://help.f9.net.uk and add the headers of a truncated message we will get this looked at for you.

Yes that's correct - it took me a day or so to figure out. It was also happening on my PC running XP SP2 and Outlook so I'm fairly confident it's not a Mac issue. Cheers Chris, I'll see if I still have them in Entourage - I might not though :-(

You're clearly very tolerant. If Plusnet's disclosure of your personal contact info to spammers wasn't enough to make you complain, what would be?

    Hi zizzy

How is your BB set up. It could be there is a problem with the internal wiring in you house. Try this

Put the ADSL line box into the the main BT socket  , and plug the router or BB modem in before it hits any wires in your house. See if the problem is any better.

Podster, your ramblings on this thread are well documented and quite tedious. You've made your point..........

It was a simple civilised question. What do Plusnet have to do for you to be convinced they're a bunch of incompetent, inept clowns?

I'm perfectly happy with their service. I've no cause to complain. The amount of spam I'm subjected to has been reduced since the spam incident, noticeably so. I dont hear many other people complaining, so I would suggest that perhaps you are exceptionally intolerant, and think that ranting and raving and stamping your feet will get you noticed. Small children do this in busy shopping centres. If Plusnet are that incompetent then they will loose customers and will go out of business. As this does not appear to be happening I suspect you are in the minority. Any business organisation cannot please all its customers, it is inevitable that one or two will be dissatisfied.

Re: Don't get a domain, get a MAC

You seem to know a lot about their customer numbers. Combined with your inability to answer a simple question, your immediate descent to personal insults, and your defense of the indefensible, I can only conclude you work for Plusnet.

I don't see anyone else defending them, so I can only assume you're in a minority.

Re: Don't get a domain, get a MAC

Ok then I will answer your simple question. If PlusNet were unable to provide me with Broadband access for an excessive amount of time then I would consider leaving. Short of that I'm happy with them. My defence of the Indefensible? that is only your opinion, so in that case how can I be wrong? Whilst I disagree with purging customer eMail addresses to spammers I am realistic enough to accept that mistakes DO occasionally happen - perhaps I'm simply more tolerant than you. Additionally I've not personally insulted you - I draw a paralel between your behaviour on here and attention-seeking children, but I do not state that you ARE one. You should also read Zizzy's posts on here defending plusnet, and additionally stating that your comments were unjustified - or perhaps you choose to ignore those comments that go against your own views?

And no I do NOT work for PlusNet or any of it's subsidiaries, nor have I ever. Your conclusion is wrong.

    Re: Ask PlusNet Thread

    Hi

I have been a Plusnet customer for 5 years or so now and ave the 'old' basic deal of just Broadband and currently pay £24.99 per month. I admit I do not spend time looking for the best deals but can see that I am paying well over the odds for what I have compared to other suppliers. I would like Plusnet to advise me of when I should/can change products to reflect my needs rather than me have to search for the best deals.

I am in the process of changing to a new supplier who will give me free calls (I currently pay for the BT line and BT calls on top of my Plusnet Broadband) and maybe TV. What can Plusnet offer to keep my loyal custom??

    Regards  Tony
