They way I read it is that you are covered for your own medical expenses only. The personal injury exclusion relates to compensatory amounts, if you lost a limb or your eyesight for example. Also you would not be covered for personal liability, so if you killed or badly injured a swimmer for example, you could potentially be liable to pay a huge sum and face prosecution for a criminal offence.

You may be able to pay an extra premium to your Travel Insurers to cover jet skiing personal liability and personal injury. However, normally when you hire a jet-ski you have to take out Insurance. I believe the hirers Insurance will then cover your personal liability, provided that you have used the jet-ski in line with the hirers terms and conditions.

    Hi Cha1kie,

    Going anywhere nice?

Travel insurance policies can really differ but many do not include certain 'adventurous' sports, like skiing, jet skiing, diving, that kind of thing. You may need to add such activities as an extra. If you can't see it clearly defined on the policy, it's entirely possible that it is not included - so make sure the policy you pick includes it!

Personal liability means cover in case you cause accidental damage or harm to someone else, e.g. if your jet ski hits a swimmer.

    Thanks,

    Felicity

I have just checked the insureandgo policy wording and they DO NOT COVER JET Skiing as standard. You can view the policies online for yourself. Must Insurers have specimen policy wordings online but always phone companies if you are unsure. The insureandgo policy wording is very clear as to which activities are covered and which are not. You will note for such activities as jet Skiing they do not cover personal liability or personal injury. You may be able to phone companies to arrange cover for activiities but be prepared to pay expensive premiums.

Re: Are jet ski accidents covered

When I went to Egypt, and Malaysia I had to list all the activities that i was going to be doing they included them in my insurance cover but loaded the policy. It cost alot more then the usual standard cover but i was happy to pay so i knew that if anything happened i would be coverd. Make sure you list everything that you want covered.

Many different insurance companies cover different things. It's really best to ask the insurers themselves.

I'm trying to book travel insurance but don't understand it accidents whilst useing a jet ski are covered, most say personal liabilty not included but does that mean that i'm covered if i hurt myself, if not does any one know of a reputable company that does include accident.
