    hey Landshark and TBS-Saosin,

thnx for the feedback. the grfx card on the iMac is ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB memory. is this better than the nvidia geforce fx 5200 128mb iv got on my pc? i understand i can run all windows programmes on a mac with bootcamp software (and a copy of windows) which is now included on all mac's. is it worth goin for the next one up for £150 more as it has a better grfx card and more hdd space? ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory and 320gb hdd vs 128mb grfx and 250gb hdd? does it really justify the extra 150 quid? for now, im only goin for 1gb ram but will be lookin to upgrade it later upto the max 4gb. apple installed ram is very expensive. im sure i can get it cheaper and install it myself as its a doddle. if i want apple to do it, itl set me back £540. if i got crucial memory, itl only cost me £115. wt a rip off!!

The ATi HD cards are awesome and I'd say the extra £150 is well worth it if you are gonna play games. PCI Xpress can access the main RAM, albeit a little slower than main GFX RAM so once you knock it up to 4gb it will make it even better. But 256mb GFX RAM is pretty minimum for a lot of games now.

TBS-Saosin is right, however make sure you get a Mac with as much RAM as you can afford. The new OS is awsome!

    SHARK!

Right, first off, GTA IV has not been announced for Windows or Mac. Only XBox 360 and PS3 versions are planned.

As for the iMac, go for it. Now you can run Windows on it as well as OSX, if you ever need to use Windows for anything it's as easy as a reboot :D. That's the one I would personally go for anyways. Whats the name of the GFX card in the new iMacs?

    Apple iMac vs PC

hey guys, i'm thinkin of buyin an iMac. i've been usin pc's for the last 10 years and still feel loyal to them but havin seen the new iMac, i fell in love with it immediately. but me being the sensible me, i spent sleepless nights thinking about it and have (almost) decided to go for the fruit. i just need a teeny weeny bit of convincin as to why i shouldn't go for a pc. iMac is stunnin but i understand i can't quite compare the specs to a pc as they are 2 different operatin systems. iMac is stunnin but the lack of upgradeability is a bit of a concern. i'd like to play GTA IV when it comes out as i'm a big fan. also the occasional games i get through mates (i'm not a big gamer but i do like em). and with iMac's 128mb grfx card, i don't know if that's possible 'cos currently i have a similar card on my pc and i just cannot play the last mission of gta:san andreas even with the lowest grfx settings :o(  its so frustratin. any info/help is appreciated. cheers!
