Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
Dear All, Thank you very much for all your replies. I intend to take the matter up with A&L and will make a formal complaint. As my loan was declined then it should have been A&L contacting me to inform me of this not 'A Another' in this case UCC. It is certainly not my intention to place blame, just an explanation as to why UCC were passed my details without my permission. annie

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
Many thanks for the observations of me...I had not realised the limitations allowance of other issues from another Financial Services area? However,...I quote Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company Today I applied online via this website for a loan of £12,000 with Alliance & Leicester to consolidate two credit cards.Today I applied online via this website for a loan of £12,000 with Alliance & Leicester to consolidate two credit cards. I received a call from a company called UCC advising that the application with A&L had been declined and they would attempt to find me an alternative. After going through all the details I had already put on the online application with someone I could barely understand duty of care to ensure data protection IS in place? Asking questions is not an allegations....criticisms of the questions in my experience is normally assocated with coverups? Anyhow, Data Protection fine for the BNP leaker was only £200?...why worry if leaks happen? R as ever no spell checks....just confirming ..perhaps answers to those who

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
What has happened Roland; up until yesterday nearly all your posts related to the, "drive assist" thread, then suddenly you started posting in unfamiliar territory without using the, "spell check".? Has MS suddenly upset you in some inexplicable way, you seemed perfectly happy using their facilities for your own purposes when the needs suited you...with no complaints. Not that a complaint is in anyway derisory, providing there is some substance to reinforce it's credibility. However, to just write out a defamatory accusation without any foundation or proof of any kind could be construed as libelous...you need to be careful or do your homework thoroughly for your own protection. ! Please understand I am not taking sides, but I do not like to see accusations made against any individual or organisation that could be considered with malicious intent.....it is totally unfair unless the person casting the aspersion can fully substantiate their allegation. I similar to huckster; did some research whilst awaiting a statement.... which was extremely simple to verify and corroborate what has been explained. I can also confirm and agree that the findings by huckster are indeed correct, so it would seem that MS are exonerated in this matter and that outside third parties have been contacted and used, of whom MS have neither any powers to exercise or maintain any kind of control over.

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
I wonder through what connection the enquiry for the loan was made through then....with no data being passed on .......there would be no data feeds to close? Cures and preventions are like cartys and horses ..one follows the other until disconnected? Due dilligence....up front confirmations of what is not done .....as all know ...all aspects of the Financial Services Trade appear somewhat akin to get away with what you can until your caught...pensions, endownments mortgages sub-prime lending, penalty charges by banks, third party capture or.... until it all comes tumbling down.....making sure you take all you can with you so tax-payers fund the business for bonus payments 12 months later......or is it me?

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
Roly I had a quick check online, many lenders appear to point rejected loan applicants to UCC. So I believe annie will need to ask A&L whether they did this and if so how this was authorised. Huckster

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
Hi Roly. Sorry to disappoint, but that's wholly inaccurate and untrue. It would contravene the Data Protection Act to pass on details without the permission of the person concerned . It's simply something we never do. It's against the law. As I explained to annie1969, the issue here is firmly the responsibility of A&L. Re: Huckster's point: I can confirm that there are no "data feeds left open to UCC". We do not pass on any customer details without their express permission. I hope that helps to clarify the situation.

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
CMK The following thread in which Melanie Griffith from MS confirms the relationship with UCC may also assist. http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/t/money-supermarket-and-ucc-26248.aspx Anyway I will leave it for MS to deal with this and respond to individuals if they have an issue. Edit Graeme, I have seen your post since. I think your IT guys need to check whether there are any data feeds left open to UCC. If there is no IT issue, as you say, perhaps A&L can shed some light on this.

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
Hi annie1969, Thanks for your post and feedback. I have spoken to our loans and customer service team and I can confirm that when you click through to Alliance & Leicester (A&L) using our site, we take you straight to their website to complete the application details – we do not hold any of your details on our site. You can only be contacted by A&L. If you have subsequently been contacted by another company - in this case UCC - that is the responsibility of A&L and you will need to take it up with their Customer Services.
As conmankiller rightly points out – Under Data Protection laws etc, personal details cannot be passed on without the express permission of the person concerned.
huckster – It’s my understanding that we do not refer any customers directly to UCC and the relationship between UCC and BlackHorse has now ended.
It goes without saying that I'll make absolutely sure our loans team are aware of all your feedback to make improvements to the channel in the future.
If anyone has any questions about their loan application or how our site works, please don’t hesitate to speak to our financial helpdesk on 0844 482 3527. Alternatively, if you’d like to speak to our customer services team, please give them a call on 0845 345 5708.
I hope that helps.

Re: Alliance & Leicester and Unsecured Credit Company
I wonder if within the terms and conditions of the loan application a section allowed A&L to pass ALL your data around the world...the RAC owned by Norwich Union or AVIVA do......then perhaps a commisionis paid to A&L from SMOOOOOOTH OPERATOR (NOT) back for the intro....tghis way income stream for A&L from declining business............like insurers heads they win...tails you lose.......such is the Great British Business Morals within corporate bullies.....
