    Hi,

If the request to cancel originated from TalkTalk this would not default your services back to BT, rather it would leave the line dead. Where a transfer of services has occurred this is most often due to a request made to the new supplier to take over an existing service.

It appears from the above you had requested to transfer to another supplier but this request was cancelled. We would nee dot look at this in more detail before we can advise you further on this.

In respect to the package price offered this would require further investigation. Offers and Promotional prices are made on the day these are offered. IT may not be the case that the same promotions were available at the later time, but we would need ot look at this in more details to confirm if this is the case.

We can log and escalate a complaint for you should you wish. If you email your account information to ttmfcontactus@talktalkplc.com we can pass this on to the relevant department for investigation.

    Regards

    Mark

Advice re fake package offered to keep us with TT

I needed a place to express my frustration and Google led me here…

After being a loyal TalkTalk customer (phone and broadband) for nearly 8 years (joined it when twas Tiscali) we decided we might like to try BT as they were offering a slightly better deal.

After a numerous calls in June, TalkTalk actually offered us a better deal, so we decided to stay with them after all. We confirmed this with them several times in June AND July, and BT was of course told in June that we didn’t want to move over to them. End of story, or so we thought…

Today we find out that TalkTalk had actually cancelled our phone package in June, and we now owe BT 80 quid.

A call to BT informed us we needed to check what TalkTalk had done, as it appeared that TalkTalk had been the side who cancelled out phone package in June (and when that happens, calls go by default to the line rental provider, which is BT.)

At NO point were we informed that our calls had been cancelled with TalkTalk (even though we had discussed our ‘new package deal’ with them in July).

A call to TalkTalk FINALLY revealed, after 40 minutes, that it was an error on their part as they should NOT have cancelled anything.

Despite the TalkTalk chap telling us we should now ‘move on’, we explained that we owe BT now and therefore CANNOT ‘move on’ until this has been resolved and we were put back on to the deal that we had confirmed with TalkTalk in June and July.

He said we would have to put our phone and broadband package ‘back together’ and this would help matters. He then said it would now cost us £36 a month, which caused us to get quite angry tbh. We WERE on £21 a month before June, and were offered the same package at £19.20 a month by several different TalkTalk reps, during our conversations in June and July, which was the reason we decided to stay with TalkTalk.

THIS is where it gets fun… the chap has now said we can’t get that deal here due to our distance from the exchange, and we should NOT have been offered it in the first place! He has now passed our file on to ‘someone higher up’ to investigate, and we will get a call back in the next 5 days.

So it seems we were (fraudulently I guess) offered a fake deal to keep us with TalkTalk.

    Nice… We now await a call in 5 days…

I think TalkTalk should be liable to pay the BT bill – anyone any thoughts please?

Plus is there any action I can take about the out-and-out fake package I was offered?

    Thanks for any comments.

    xx
