    Hi Afildes

    Thanks for your post.

If you have not received a service of any kind or a response from PIPEX about the status of your service then you're perfectly entitled to cancel. If I were in your shoes I would quit because the situation might not improve for some time.

Under the Sale of Goods Act if you haven't received a service then you can cancel with no cost to you.

My advice is send them a letter quoting the Sale of Goods Act and tell them that you will cancel the service within 10 working days - cancel all payments now and also request a MAC code.

One of two things will happen - they will either accept your letter and give you your MAC or will try to rectify the issue.

Either way you should be better off.

    Good luck

    Jason

    Advice about Pipex problem

    Hi,

I've been having an ongoing problem with Pipex for a while now, and I wonder what I should do.

Like many people on this forum, I've phoned up many times, but been unable to get through. For the last 3 months I have been trying to get my cancellation fee refunded, but still to no avail. Non-reply to e-mails, non-notification of activation etc . . .

However in the last 3 days my broadband has disappeared! I have checked my bank and they have not billed me for two months (and even then tried to add Zonealarm despite neither requesting or receiving a copy). Last month I received a Direct Debit notification through, despite having received one when I first started with the service!

I no longer receive a dail-tone, so that makes me think that they have cut off my service, but I don't want to cancel the direct debit as that may bring debt collectors. I need broadband for work, and Pipex are not providing a service, so should I move to a new ISP, formally cancel my contract, or what? I phoned them, but as usual i am unable to get through, though I have e-mailed them. Not having access to the Internet is costing me money, so what do the Forum members think i should do; Quit or Wait it out?

    Thanks
