My god... You really want to complain about something like this... It's just bad luck. Get the refund and the find the dress somewhere else? Ebay maybe... Might help you moan about something else.

It is not really their fault if several orders come in that deplete their inventory. And websites do not get updated THAT fast to make allocations for sold out items.

Thanks. I guess I thought as much but was just really annoyed that they had let me down after looking so long for a dress!

At the very most they may have committed a minor "availability" infringement, but if it's a simple one-off human error then trading standards would not be interested in any complaint, especially as they have offered a full refund.

    Advertising sold out items!

I purchased a dress from a website 'Spoiled Brat'. Once the funds had been debited from my card they sent me an email to let me know that the item now sold out. Although they have offered a refund I feel it is a major failing that they advertise sold out items. Can they get away with this?

    Thanks
