    additional policy

just wondering out of interest how you go about this, i own a car i have full no claims which is protected, etc.but my stepson wants a car but his premium is 2000 plus but he keeps asking for me to insure his car for him which for 1. i dont want to risk my insurance no claims for and i really dont like the idea off and 2. i wont know how you would go about this with having a policy?

any answers good or bad would be most appreciated,

    Thanks in advance

    Re: additional policy

If you take out a policy with yourself as the main driver and your stepson as a named driver you will save some money, you will be able to tax the car and the vehicle wont be stopped merely for having no insurance. However, the policy will not be valid unless you can prove to the insurance company that you are indeed the main driver. This would be dificult to prove as insurance companies are well aware of this particular ploy.

Most insurance companies would happily take money for this sort of policy but they would not pay out for any claim.
