    6-9 months Broadband

    Hello from mister frustrated!

Having recently seperated, been made bankrupt and moved into a rented flat, I am desperate for a decent broadband connection - thought i was prepared with my Vodafone dongle but am lucky to achieve 900 bps - it's taken me nearly 2hrs to register and compose this email !

I live in a 2 year old flat in BS32 which has a BT socket and is hard wired for SKY (including seperate telephone socket). Can anyone please advise of the cheapest options for obtaining a flexible broadband solution whereby there is no annual commitment and how/who do I contact in relation to activating the phone line? Ex partner used to do all this so I am not sure - that's why she is probably the ex !

Any assistance and indication of costs would be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    imetalmikey

Assuming that the socket is fault-free, you can contact BT to get it reconnected or you can shop/google around and, perhaps, get it done cheaper using someone else.

Once you have a BT compatible line, you can get a table of broadband suppliers using the "broadband" tab at the top. If you click on "contract" at the top of the results table, the results will be sorted with those who will provide the service on a monthly basis. With such suppliers, if you want to cancel after 6 or 9 month (or even after the first month if they aren't good enough) there should be no problem.

... it's worth getting a USB extension cable and dangling your dongle near a window to see what happens.
