    4x4 Insurance

    Hi

I am in the process of buying a second hand Ford Ranger XLT 2.5TD 4x4 double cab pickup and need to get a competitive insurance quote. This vehicle will be a second car for myself to use, purley for social and domestic pleasure / going to work. Unfortunately as this is a second car I cannot use my 9+ years no-claims discount that is on my other policy and I am finding some quite horrific insurance premiums. I have a clean drivers licence, no convictions and I am over 35 but still struggling to find a competitive quote.

In addition most of the usual insurance companies do not have policies for pickup trucks even if it is for private use.

    Any advice welcome.

Have you tried NFU mutual? It may be better to move the Insurance for both cars to the same insurer.

Hey huckster - That's very perceptive of you, how did you know he insures the other car through the NFU.?

Can't see a reference to that....Or were you thinking of, "tractor"?

    Subliminal.!

Now that you mention it. There was a new poster recently, who entered a post asking a similar question and replied with what was almost an advert for NFU. I think they worked for NFU. The post was deleted by the moderator.

We will see what happens. Subliminal posters name causing others to reply with NFU as a possible solution. Very clever!!!

If my forum name was spelt slightly differently, I am not sure what type of service I would be subliminally advertising ? :--))

Nb. As for lottery numbers I have given up on predicting these. You end with regular numbers that you keep on using, just in case the the unlikely happens.
