    Hi,

    First of all you should provide them with proof of when you moved into the property. Take a note of both your gas and electric meter serial numbers and contact your existing supplier. Ask them to check that these are the serial numbers registered against your accounts.

    But definitely contact Consumer Focus.

    hi all , found my way here after getting annoyed with BG.

    I have just sent an email to the complaints dpetartment after telling the customer service never to ring me again.

    Basically for the past 3 years I have been in contact with them on and off, as they decided to send me letters informing me that I was moving property and then getting bills for another person at my address. I have tried to resolve this and thought i had got somewhere, confirming that my account was £300 in credit and that there was only one person, namely me, at this address.

    Only to recieve a bill for £600, as you can imagine im furious, the bill is for usage dating back to 2007 !!

    Stupidly I do not keep reciepts and that has now been changed as i am now keeping every recipet i get. Is there anyone who can give me some advice or tell me where to get it ? if you would like to see the email i sent then ill happily show it, dont know if that will help.
