10 months cover = 1 year no claims?

    Hi

I have car insurance with Admiral who offered a 10 month insurance contract which would be equivalent to 1 year no claims. This was called a Bonus Accelerator - 10 Month Policy.

However, it is now approaching the time to renew my insurance, and I am wondering if this offer only applies if i renew with admiral? When getting a quote from other insurers will I be able to say I have 1 years no claim, or will this only be recognised as a full year by Admiral?

    Thanks

    Neale

You will have to ask the insurers. I would expect that companies that participate in the same scheme will recognise the NCB.

I had the same issue when I came to renew my insurance, I had my policy out with Elephant, I contacted a few insurers and my quote was higher than that with my current insurer Elephant. So as it is at the moment I renewed again with Elephant and am going to have the same problem this time round. Hope this is some sort of help!

    Hi

Further to my initial question, I contacted Admiral who said other insurers would accept this as a full years no claims bonus.

I did not stay with admiral as i received a much cheaper quote with swiftcover, but I thought the admiral staff were very helpful and friendly none the less.

    Thanks for your replies above.
