02 sent me a new sim card & I deleted tomtom software from the phone. The charges went back to the low normal amount, but I didnt get any money back, so I joined Vodafone. 02 GO AND SUCK

thanks for the reply, ive asked 02 to stop my phone from using the internet so hopefully that stops the charges

    Re: 02 data charges

It would seem that they are set by default from new to connect to the internet at midnight then, perhaps this is to enable them to update automatically. ?

Surely there must be a way to disable this feature by going into the phone settings. ?

    Re: 02 data charges

I've had this problem too. Got a £300 bill... looking at my data charge bill online my phone appears to have connected at 00:00am every night since I activated it from the box. On the first occasion it has downloaded a 608meg! After this is has connected at the same time (exactly midnight) every night!

Some more digging is needed I think!

    Re: 02 data charges

Hi -- Just a long shot but is there any chance you may have connected to the internet by mistake, particularly if you use your phone as an alarm. ?

It's just that the times seem so coincidental and seem to correspond with you going to bed and getting up. !

    02 data charges

Been with 02 for 11 months now with a xda orbit phone.

When I got my online bill in September there was over £120 in Internet charges. When I complained to 02, they said they couldn't give me times of when the phones was used with the internet. In October I got my next bill.Again there was £35 internet charges. Complained again & got £20 off the bill. This time he said the internet was being used between midnight & 5.00am. Got my November bill with £18 internet charges. Again complained. They have sent me a new sim card as that may be the cause. Still trying to get back £150 internet charges from 02, but its like banging your head against a brick wall.

I only use the internet with a wireless network & Im normally asleep between midnight & 5am.

    Anyone else got this problem?

    anyone help me?

     Rob
