We took out 2 contracts from them in August 2007 with a promise of cashback - one with T-Mobile and one with Vodafone. When we received our first bills, we took them to the shop and they issued us with 3 post-dated cheques per contract. The first cheque was due to be deposited in December. However, at the end of November they wrote us a letter saying that they were changing bank accounts and would need to re-issue the cheques so we had to take the cheques back to the shop. We did so and were told to come back on 7th Jan 08 to collect the new cheques. We went back on 7th Jan and the shop was closed. It has been closed since!! They owe me £759.00!!! If you have also experienced something similar then please please get in touch. Let me know what you have done so far and we can hopefully do something together! Thanks!

Cheque back through Carphone Warehouse

Hello, I have just signed up to my first pay monthly contract with Orange through the Carphone Warehouse online service with a total cashback of £245. Just a heads up about the recent cashback offer from phoneboxdirect.com.. I placed an order with them for the samsung U600 last week hoping it would be with me a couple of days as they promise delivery within 2 days.. however i gave them until today due to the bank holiday when i rang them and they told me as i have set up my payment details with a visa electron card they do not accept such cards and my order was cancelled.. neither do they accept solo or switch cards.. but what bothered me most of all is that they did'nt bother to inform me of the fact and as far as i can see, there is nothing on the website to tell anybody of this fact.. so if you have'nt recieved you phone and you entered your details using a switch, solo or visa electron card.. this is probably the reason why..

Cashback protest

I am a customer who has been affected by the cashback problems and think it is time to take action into our own hands. We can give it a go though!

Simply3g cashback

Hi, any idea about mobile phone retailer Simply Communications? My cashback claim date was in Dec 2007. I have received a mail from them stating that they could not process the claim due to some trouble in their company and would pay the money "soon". I have not received any positive mail from them - no commitment on when the money will be paid or at all be paid or not. Have any of you guys dealt with these rookies? Can you suggest any option on how to get this company to pay my money? Cheers, Prad

PhoneBox Direct AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Like other members who have posted their terrible experiences with Phone Box Direct I can confirm the same. I have recieved repeated emails advising me that my cheque will issued within 10 days and have been waiting MONTHS! Unfortuantely I have two contracts and have introduced family members who are in the same situation. Two cashback claims are void - again the 28 days cashback claim return period has been changed to 21 days without any notice. They claim the files have been archived and cannot be accessed for review! I'm in the process of following this up with consumer direct. Be warned and keep well away! On the other hand Carphone Warehouse / E2SAVE are excellent from experience.

Cashbacks must STOP!

I've said it elsewhere, but this is to solidify the point. Cashback is only a discount system which has consistently proven to be a 'cheat' that benefits the supplier and not the consumer. Since this is only a discount, why have it at all? If the networks and the suppliers want to offer discount, then do it at the point of sale. Most (if not all) the cashback schemes need the consumer to send in bills (this is a massive security risk) before any cashback is even considered. How do you know if you have adhered to the reseller's scheme? In short, you don't. Even with registered post and signed for deliveries, it seems that there is no end to the duplicity that SOME resellers will stoop to avoid paying you what you thought you would get. Demand better discount at the point of sale (say 50% off everything for the duration of your contract) up front. No messing about, no stupid sub-clauses. Just plain, simple language that says "This is what I signed up for" so everyone knows where they stand. Don't sign up to, or give patronage to any reseller dealing in these iniquitous schemes. Deal with the network providers themselves, not the middle-men. Time to stop this whole sordid affair once and for all! End of problem, easily sorted. SHARK!

Simply3G Cashback - anyone had anything

I signed with simply 3g a while ago, trusting that the cashback would work out okay.
