About 3 months ago, plus net emailed me saying they were upgrading my usage allowance but keeping the price I paid the same. With the next month's invoice I was overcharged and after sending an email the overcharge was refunded to me. The next month the same thing happened again and I was told this overcharge would again be refunded to my account, which it wasn't. The same thing happened the third month and after I emailed them saying it had happened again and I was still waiting on the refund from last month as well. I was told that they would refund what I was owed and that my account details had been amended to show the correct price. The package price has been amended but is still wrong and they've only refunded one month instead of two. Generally speaking I really like the service plus net supplies, I rarely have connection problems or anything like that. But this billing problem is getting me down. As this is a rural area I don't expect to get massively high speeds but this is unworkable. the decay seems to have set in after Tiscali took them over (although this might just be coincidence) and their system runs over the tiscali network. My question is would I get the same if I moved over to plusnet? Is plusnet a reseller of the tiscali network in the same way or is it on a different system? I would probably want to get the phone over at the same time, has anyone had experience of this shift and if so how pain'ful'/'less' was it? cheers BobG

Ask PlusNet Thread

Hi All As you are probably aware PlusNet are working with Moneysupermarket.com to try to help their customers or answer any queries in our forum. I have a wireless ADSL router already, and you can assume that the line is connected to the exchange but not the rest of the telephone network (i.e. I'll be getting line rental from you too) Thanks Caius

Complete Newb to BB Requesting Advice re PN

Hey there - there hasn't been that much activity on this forum recently, but if you don't ask, you don't get! I've been on Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange AnyTime Dial up now for years, partly because my (apparently antique! - the nerve!) computer just wasn't powerful enough to do anything much. Finally, I've gotten a new pc and was planning to stick with the dial-up for a month or two until I'd had managed to get a really good idea of broadband, how it works, package deals etc., but as the new pc doesn't have a modem, that is out the window! Looking around on comparison sites, I've kinda decided I would like to go to PlusNet as my first bb provider, but as I have no idea of what my usage would be, I'm in two minds as to what to order, at least for the first month. Personally, I use my comp a lot - I get a fair amount of emails, occasionally send or receive hefty attachments keeping in touch with family and I play Runescape a lot (oh the joys of an addiction!) as well as a lot of general surfing. The children also play RS, get a lot of email between them and have to send work to school occasionally, use school affiliated sites for learning and homework as well as IM. I'm pretty certain we'd like to be able to look at video and music sites at times as well. Question 1: If we tried the Option 3 for a month and it turned out it was too much for what we use, is it easy to downsize to Option 2? Question 2: Would it cost us anything to downsize or would we have to exchange the router? Question 3: How long does it take to set up/get the router/get online in the first instance in general? I've noticed differing views on this. Question 4: For anyone with the phone bundle, would you recommend it? We don't actually make many phone calls - in fact my rental charge often exceed the calls by over 50% in the least instance. How would this compare to using PlusNet as my phone provider? (BTW, yes, I have read that it's now owned by BT in an independant fashion, but it's usually better to ask for reviews!) I've already put in my 30 day notice to Orange about the dial-up and I have been told it will be cut off on November 11th, so I would appreciate the views of both PlusNet staff and customers to my queries. Many (hopeful) thanks in advance!

Multiple locations

I would like to join PlusNet but, before doing so, could someone please tell me whether I could use my PlusNet account at more than my home location e.g. when I am visiting family, or am I restricted to the BT phone number where I join.

Supanet Broadband

Has anyone experience with Supanet Broadband, good or bad ?

plusnet advance charges?

i was thinking about joining plusnet and got as far as filling out the joining application only to find i had to pay advance charges before im even connected, could sumone please tell me why ive got to pay in advance before i go live as i dont think that is fair as most other companys put advance charges on your first bill after your go live date.

Welcome To The PlusNet Forum

This is just a quick hello from me to say welcome to the PlusNet forum.
