If i was in your shoes i would personally trade in your car for a smaller older car may be an (2001) look for a nissan micra or some think along those lines with a small engine, or sell your car privately and pay off the finance, and using the money super market website do a dummy quote (click on the correct offence for why you got band etc) to give you an idea of how much insurance would cost you, if your planning to keep your car gret every think done i.e mot road tax and insurance nearer to your band ending....
