Not really an explanation is it? The person who wants the policy for themselves really neds to call up, regardless if a 17yr old is too shy or lazy.

Its not up to the school to teach them. I blame people like you, parents, who ring around for insurance for the 17yr old yourself.

17yr olds would get a much better deal if they called up themselves. Workers at Direct line used to load policys if their parents called! We did it on purpose!!! We were allowed to load premiums to whatever we wanted, so if we had a very rude person on the phone (which is 99% of the general public by the way!!) we would add another 50% to their policy!!!!!!
