Talktalk are the worst ISP i have ever dealt with, they have lots of Ts and Cs so they can alter your service when they want. I learned the hard way. Their customer support is soo awful its is legendary! i was spending £40 a month on calls and getting nowhere. I had outages of over a week because they accidently switched off my package while testing the line, which isnt helpful when you work from home. I was told from a TT engineer thay they had a policy of switching customers on to a higher contention rate line (much slower) as it saved them money. Its a nice way to reward loyalty.

I dont like BT but I went back to them, they are more expensive but you get what you pay for. I have no problems and a 4 meg line and i'm at the limit of distance from the exchange. Support is local and always helpful.

My advice is AVOID talktalk, once they get you in contract, its hard to get out after they start tinkering with your service.
