A few years ago I opened accounts for my sons. They are not older than 10. I was asked to produce their passports (and my own) and thier birth certs regardless of the fact that I have banked with Lloyds (now Lloyds TSB) for over 10 years. I did ask why and I was told that:

Your not going to believe what she said!!!!!!

Since 9/11 we have really tightened up our security for money laundering purposes to eliminate the ability of terrorists saving money to buy bombs to use in the UK!!!!

OMG!!!
