First a brief on my current situation. My wife and I have a joint mortgage. The deal we have is with Halifax at 4.59%. This deal expires in Dec 08. I will be looking to remortgage at around that time.

Now for the problem. My wife will be on Maternity Leave when we will be looking for remortgage deals.

Now my question. Will it be difficult for us to look for a remortgage while she is on Maternity Leave? I might not qualify to get the full amount we need on my salary alone. So will the banks consider the fact that she will be getting back to full time work in Jan 2008. What are my options?

The worst possible option is my wife going back to work earlier than we would have liked.
