Obviously 2 different fronts to fight.

2) Employment law issues. Go to local CAB to see if you can access an employment law specialist. It depends on your circumstances and the issues involved, but there are solicitors that take on pro bono (for free) work, to help people out.I think the way it works is that you are given a half hour free consultation meeting and then they will decide whether they are prepared to take on your case or offer advice about the best way forward.. http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/ .
