Hi all.
I am writing this message on behalf of a friend who is in trouble.
They have received a letter from their current account bank (halifax) saying that they are about to close their account. My friend is currently living (most of the time) in their agreed overdraft limit of £300. They have adverse debt problems and most of these have been put to debt recovery agencies. My friend now pays an agreed amount to each of the lenders. However this has recently affected their credit report and due to this, the halifax is now closing their account. They will sell on my friends account to a recovery agency (to pay the £300 overdraft amount off) and are offering them a basic account. This will allow direct debits and paying in but not the use of the card for purchases.
My friend needs to change to a different current account that will except adverse credit history. Does anybody know of one? they will be able to pay off the £300 prior to the move so it will not transfer to the new account
Thank you for reading this
regards
Ged
