So far the news media has been very successful in bringing down banks and economies of recent times. Banks collapsing are big news and big news sells newspapers and I think Iceland is top of the list for a good slagging of at the moment. There is a real danger the investors will be panicked into pulling out there savings and these banks may well collapse as a result.

I have savings in both Icesave and Kaupthing which is another reason that you should feel uneasy as I do seem to be the kiss of death. Today I asked Icesave if my money is safe and they confirmed that it is covered by the FSA protection scheme. So you need not worry on that front but you must remember that it will take them 6 months to pay out and I don't suppose you will receive any interest during that period.

Anyone know any reliable banks where I can run for cover to?
