Quick question for you based on post above -

Do you have any evidence of the payment you made to the original debt collectors? If so, surely you can show this to the latest lot?

On another tack, it's well worth googling "consumer action group" - some good advice on there in terms of things you can do, request and ask to potentially scupper most debt collecion agencies :)
