Avinash,
Thanks to you and Peter for arranging last night's meeting and arranging for Mike and Philip to attend. I think that people in Jersey are becoming acutely aware of the situation and are realising that a 100% return from Landsbanki Guernsey is unlikely. I have seen the article in this monring Daily Telegraph (read it online) and agree that articles like these outside of the Islands are incredibly important to keep pressure on the Guernsey authorities. I do not think that name shaming the States of Guernsey at the moment is necessary and hopefully as discussed last night we should know more in 7 to 10 days time. In the interim the more media attention we can attract regarding the situation the better.
Following on from last night's meeting has a date been set for the newxt meeting? Also, it seemed unanimous that we should contact the Guernsey action group and if we do this and all Jersey and Guernsey depositors are represented then this is nearly 50% of total depositors. Do you have any ideas where we may seek legal representation? I understand Peter's concerns regarding this to be a 'free ride' for some and therefore I am keen to assist where possible. Perhaps we should have another meeting and 'elect' a panel?
These are just some thoughts at the moment.
Regards
Julian
