Graeme Delap:As you may have seen in my other post, it's nearly a year since the collapse of the Icelandic banks Kaupthing, Glitnir and Landsbanki and we’d like to hear your stories of how you were affected.
Were you a depositor in Landsbanki Guernsey or Kaupthing IoM? Are you still waiting for compensation? Were you a saver with Icesave UK? How has the last year been for you? Is huckster right? Who will accept responsibility?
As the forgotten victims of the crisis - there are an estimated 20,000 of you - we're planning on raising awareness of your plight, so please let us know how you're getting on and what your views are on the situation. If you're willing to talk the the press about your ongoing battle, let us know too. We'd love to hear how you've all been getting on...
It will be a year tomorrow, 7 October, that the message appeared on Icesave's website:
''We are not currently processing any deposit or any withdrawal requests.''Since receiving full compensation from the FSCS in November 2008, I put my ISA money in a NatWest ISA which has continued to earn a reasonable rate of interest given the low interest rates over the past year.
This forum was a terrific support during the Icesave crisis. I even found great deals on insurance thanks to moneysupermarket's comparison tables, which I continue to use.
Best wishes to anyone still logging in to the forum. It would be great to see a few posts on the anniversary of Icesave's collapse.
