It won't suit everyone but ZOPA is worth looking at......you basically act as a lender to others so your savings are used as a loan and you 'charge' and therefore receive interest on it (like the bank does)

It's got an element of risk though but you can choose borrowers to suit your own risk profile....it's still early days for me and i'm still looking at it in detail but check out their website here to see if it's of interest. !!!
