Again someone who should have known better and done my homework before using these cowboys. I wasn't drawn in by their cheap price as £1300 is not cheap by anyone's standards but by the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty. I look forward to having to use this "warranty" from the threads that I have NOW read.
Got my car back today, Monday 27th April after it was collected on Tuesday 24th March for a replacement engine that will take "between 3 to 5 days" to fit.
Here are the facts and you can make up your own mind;
Car blew up Sunday 22nd March 09. Contacted HEC Monday 23rd March, friendly can do approach, car collected Tuesday 24th March, Friday 27th March engine report provided which included "new" crank, 1 new rod, thermostat, plugs and £25 worth of sundries , oh and an additional bill for £400 for the new items which are not covered by their T&C's.. I provide approval to undertake the work but only when the funds for the engine and this "new" work have cleared into their bank. This was provided by wire transfer on Saturday 28th March.
No contact from that point on until I physically visit their site on Thursday 9th April to be shown my car with the engine fitted but with another problem that they can't diagnose. And their diagnostic technician is not back until Tuesday 14th March, suppose everyone deserves a holiday!! Wednesday 10th April I phone for an update and the fault cannot be located and could I supply them with the garage contact details so that they can call them to try and help with the fault diagnosis. Now my alarm bells are really ringing!!
Receive phone call from workshop manager on Thursday 16th, that the fault has been cleared, this was due to a faulty earth i.e. the strap connection was corroded. Connector cleaned and the car will be test driven and returned on the Monday 20th April. Monday 20th receive my second call from the workshop manager (wow) to say that there is an oil leak and that the new gaskets will be delivered to them on Tuesday, 21st April, fitted, test driven and then returned Wednesday 22nd April.
Heard nothing on the Wednesday and called them to find out what was happening, to be told that there the car requires test drive and then will be delivered back to me Thursday 23rd April. Nothing heard on Thursday so decide to call them Friday to try and find out where the problem was and was informed by the "transport manager" that there was no vehicle available and that the slot to return the car had been booked for Saturday 25th April pre 2 p.m.
Rang Saturday morning to be informed that the delivery truck was on route back to their yard, will be loaded up and "I will wait until it has left the yard before calling you to confirm", all of this went on before 11a.m.
3 o'clock Saturday, nothing no car etc so called them but they close Saturday afternoon, okay we all deserve a weekend!!
Waited until Monday 27th and tried to call the office to be informed that I should ring back after 10 when I would be able to get an answer on the delivery of my car.
Rang at 10.30, Monday 27th and this is the exact wording of the conversation:
Me; Hello car I talk to someone about my car and where it is please
Reply; Well it is your car and if you don't know where it is then you are a clown.
Me; Sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself, you have my car and I am trying to find out when it is going to be delivered back to me as it was supposed to have been on Saturday.
Reply; Oh so no you are a F***ing clown then are you?
Me; Sorry I don't want to get off on the wrong foot but your company is the clown show, with all the broken promises, as my car should have been back last week.
Reply; there is only one F***ing clown and that's you on the other end of this phone.
Then the person hangs up! I ring back.
Me: Can I talk to someone about my car?
Reply; It's up your F***ing A*** hole.
Then the person hangs up. I again ring back but this time contact the workshop manager, who is a little more sensitive to the fact that he has had my car for nearly 5 weeks and I overhear the conversation between him and a third party, and again it goes like this:
Workshop Manager: "Where the F*** is this car that belongs to Mr **** and why hasn’t it been delivered back to him.
3rd party: It is on the back of a wagon going back to him this morning, it's already left.
Workshop Manager: Sorry about this Mr ************ but I will put you onto someone now.
I speak to the third party who tells tells me of the same.
14:30 today, Monday 27th April I get my car back.
Will I be using their warranty if my car goes bang – not in this lifetime?
Will I be using them again – not in this lifetime?
Will I be complaining to their MD, Mr Dean Vickers – with attitude like this from his staff I would probably expect the same type of abuse or worse still if you believe some of the forums – not in this lifetime?
Will I recommend them to anyone that I know - not this lifetime?
I think you get the gist of this rant.
My recommendation to anyone else thinking of using them – NOT IN THIS LIFETIME.
Do your homework first and read these threads and those like them. Just google: heathrow engine, forum
YOU ONLY PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET IN LIFE. I hope that they get what they deserve in their lifetime.
