The industry dealing with E10 is diabolical no one jack about it. I work in the industry and will remain anonymous for professional reasons.

E10 firstly is only for wet water radiator systems (works like a gas central heating but it electric) also underground heat pump etc this was its sole purpose it can’t support storage heaters. If you have storage heaters then you are E7 or any other kind of off peak tariff East Midlands Electricity Board (EMEB) can offer you.

If you are ever speaking to anybody at an energy company speak to there registrations or Change of Supply team they are 10 times better than general call centre.

The industry use SSC’s which is Standard Setting Configure which is basically the setting the meter has which is used to bill you. E10’s SSC is from 0935 – 0939 depending on the PES depends what they use etc.

Now Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) I know can support E10 on one MPAN. You are also out of there distribution area so they will be cheaper than EMEB. I would give them a call on 0870 90 50 805 (there registrations team) and they will be able to get you registered asap and get a meter installed for you. Even though they EMEB cant support, because they are a PES/Meter Operator they still can install E10 for SSE. I have had to refer many customers to them as they are the only ones that seem to help and get things sorted.

I hope this information is of use, I work in this mess everyday and I know all there is to know about E10 no one wants to touch it with a barged poll and it leaves many customer at there wits end. Any more question drop me a line.
