Hi VISA Debit cards also allow you to go overdrawn as at the point of sale they dont always check that there are sufficient funds (smaller transactions)
VISA Electron cards do check!
Try the Halifax Easycash acount. No chq book but a VISA Electron card. They have a good ISA and savings account online that you can immediately transfer from/to.
As far as I know a recently bankrupt person will be refused credit UNLESS they "forget" to mention this by manipulating addresses etc. That is called fraud! Especially after only six months. A friend went bankrupt and he was earning 70k a year ina bank. He couldnt get credit OR a visa debit card!
