I've just received quite a speedy third email from Customer Care, this time about my innaccurate bill. It was probably because they have just received the letter I sent to the Chairman, Peter Dubens, at his private address.
So it seems Pipex has no problem with my cancelling the DD and is quite happy to be paid by cheque:
(Dear Curlew),
I have also today received the letter received by our Chairman, Peter Dubens.
You are correct in your calculations and the outstanding amount is £27 (£6.50*3 + £7.50). Pipex can send the invoices to you which require payment and in this scenario cheque payment would be necessary. Once you have received the invoices please send a cheque payable to Pipex Internet including a brief covering letter containing your username, telephone number and order reference number, in order for our Finance team to allocate to the correct account.
I am sorry that your Pipex experience has not been as happy as wish it could have been. Pipex are always concerned when a customer cancels early into their Pipex relationship but I appreciate the reasons which you have given.
Kind regards
Customer Care
