Blueb:Hi I wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I requested my bank statements from my bank Halifax, back in March, along with a cheque to cover costs. They sent me two seperate letters saying they had received my request and were looking into it, one in April and one in May. I then heard nothing until I rang the customer services department two weeks ago and they said they would fast track my request. Then today I received a letter from them saying that they would not be reimbursing me my bank charges as I had agreed to them when I opened my account. At no time did I say this was my intention, I just requested my statements which I still have not received. I don't know where I stand with this now as I'm sure everyone who has reclaimed their bank charges agreed to the terms and conditions when they signed up for their accounts too? Please help!!
Hi there, firstly they ahve to give you your statements from teh past 6 years as you paid for them, assuming the cheque you sent has been cashed? You then need to highlight all the charges you have incured including interest if you want and send it back stating you want a refund and within a time limit, 40 days i believe they have, if they dont agree to this then start the small claims court proceedings. just make sure you have every letter sent so far, including your copies and dont miss anything out before you get to court as if you are not well prepared the back will win and you will eb unable to pursue the claim any further. good luck and let us know
