    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

    Hi Dr dr,

Got my mate to work out the prices at the momonet and on a single rate meter using 29018 is about £3300 and to break even using E10 you would need to use at less 40% on the off peak to break even with the peak rate. Thats based on MPAN 12 prices as you said you where London. Also EDF lost their license to install E10 and all their fancy tariffs since they lost the I think there SWEB and or SEEB license and everything migrated to the LOND license everything fell through then. The reason I know this is a customer who wanted warmwise install like he had in his old property couldnt in his new because they couldnt fit it as never had license to bill (CRAZY). Please let me know what MPAN area you are in and I will try to do more digging for you to see if their will be a more appropirate tariff that E10.

    Kind Regards

    Mr MPAN

Is heatwise not a system similar to Comfort Plus/THTC? If so it is not Eco10 and would explain the storage heaters.

    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

    Hi,

Heatwise is only avaiable in the East and Midlands area (MPAN 11 & 14) which can range from 4 to 5 registers and gives restricted 10hr off peak per day. Comfortplus (2 mtr 1 register each) is avaiable only in Scottish powers area (MPAN 18) and is a weather sensitive tariff giving you up to 14hrs off peak for storage heaters and thing on heating elements (their is different varions of the tariff i.e. comfortplus whitemeter(1 mtr 3 registers ) etc) Total Heating Total Control (1 or 2 mtrs 2 registers in total) is only avaible in Hydro's area (17 MPAN) works the same as comfortplus but only gives upto 12hrs depending on the weather and hydro only install THTC standard they no longer offer any varion like Scottish Power do. From these comparisons you really cant compare these as they work different and pricing is totally different as well.

    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

    Hi,

Generally some suppliers can support some Two MPAN tariffs but the heatwise is a killer due the amount of registers on it. I'm sure EDF &/or Npower can take on these as am sure I've seen them supply before but give them a phone and advise you have two MPANs and the Tariff is called Heatwise and can they support and they will soon tell if they can or not and give you any rates. Dont go near Scottish & Southern, Scottish Power or British Gas as they are dead certs they cant do it. Also a good idea is maybe try companies like Telecom plus or Utilita as they are offering not bad rates for electric only but maybe able to support your heatwise. I know some companies offer discounted rates for online maybe Eon offer this and it sometimes helps save money.

    Kind Regards

    Mr MPAN

    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

MrMPAN, thanks for the info, you sound pretty switched on. I work in the Hydro DNO and have constant problems explaining to folk about THTC and Eco10, to both householders and call centres. Many customers and sales staff are either poorly advised, or ignorant of the fact that these systems are not Eco7; nor are they supported by many suppliers.

    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

    Hi MPAN

I am trying to find out about Economy 10 working with a new ground source heat pump with underfloor heating in a new farmhouse re-build, we about to commision this system but need to change to Eco 7 or Eco 10, we are with EDF energy, as you seem to know what you are talking about I wonder if you would be so kind as to advise which one to use? This is new to me and not sure what the benefits are, I do know Norweb hrs on Eco 10 are 2.30am-7.30 1.20pm to 4pm and 10pm to 12.30pm.

Many thanks if you can help.

    Thyme

OK, this is an old thread and I have been slightly selective in the quote.

What you say is hardly surprising. There is hardly any info indexed on search engines. Search your own company's website for product and tariff info ...... nothing, though I stand to be corrected.

    Re: Economy 10/Heatwise

    Thyme, you will need Eco10.

Jalexa, you have been very selective in the quote....you would do well as a journalist! That said it is a pain trying to find out about some of the more exotic systems out there.
