    Re: Pipex Latest !

I'm beginning to doubt it as well although I have now managed to resolve this problem and they have backed down over charging me as stated in my posting of today. When BT take the Pipex Broadband off my line I may give PlusNet a chance as they have a monthly arrangement with no contract.  If it is successful, it can be upgraded at a later date if required. PlusNet and Madasafish seem to be the only two ISP's that don't have a multitude of complaints. There will always be some who have problems but these two have the least on the comparison section of the forum and, from the comments made, they do seem to try and resolve any difficulties, plus the call centres are in this country which means only regional accents to cope with which shouldn't be difficult. The major problem with all of them is the constant buying of the companies as part of an empire-building exercise and to hell with the customers !

    Oh Dear.....

Having become thoroughly disenchanted with BT, I made enquiries of computer engineers, computer stores and other places as to which service was reliable and one without an outsourced help desk would be appreciated. The latter was the cause of the anger and frustration that caused me to quit BT. Pipex was highly recommended. I  started a subscription a few days ago, everything went swimmingly until I realised that despite registering for web space I still had no access to my web-site. A known issue they say and will be remedied next week, apologies all round. Now I read that horor of horrors, again after receiving assurances from Pipex, the company has been bought by Tiscali, a company that is allegedly gathering more than its fair share of complaints. Also I understand that Tiscali outsources its help line to India, so I will be at the mercy of thick accents, on bad phone lines and probably the incompetance that seemed endemic with BT.

Is there any decent Broadband service left in the UK that has a local helpdesk and is likely to stay that way?

    Pipex Latest !

Replacenment Installation CD, to have been sent 1st Class on 10th July, finally arrived today,19th July ! It is the same incorrect version as originally received despite my having told them on 12th July I considered them in Breach of Contract and had cancelled the Direct Debit. (They can sue me if they like, but don't fancy their chances !!!). All items originally received plus today's CD have now been returned to Net Lynk and Pipex have again been told the contract is cancelled as far as I am concerned !  They appear to have been sold to Tiscali in the last couple of days and I've heard a few bad reports about them, as well, although no idea if this is correct. Pipex seem to be as useless as another well-known ' supplier ' that doesn't supply and has featured on web complaints plus national TV etc.!
