I am writing on behalf of my mother who had an Economy 7 meter (apparently) fitted on the 6th Feb 2004 as she was having Storage Heaters (Economy 7 compatible) fitted to help heat her home. British Gas invoiced her for £35.25 for 'fitting' the Economy Seven Domestic Meter although as far as we can see the meter isn't an Economy 7 meter.
She is out all day and has gas fires which she uses during the evening and is now very reluctant to put the storage heaters on as they seem to costing her a small fortune - she has changed from British Gas to Powergen and recently back again - a rep from British Gas had a look at her bills and said she should have had 3 different tariffs - one for daytime first 225kw and then a second tariff plus Economy 7 tariff - which isn't mentioned.
Can anybody advise her on this matter? Her bill for just electricity between Sept 04 - Jan 06 was for £1446.42 - im sure it should have been much less if they had her on the correct tariff for the storage heaters.
Thanks
