Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Unfortunately the card is restricted to Thomas Cook holidays, but I have this and still get some great bargains on it as you can use it off any holidays booked as long as its in the branch. Failing that Amex Blue has a good cashback offer on, the only problem here is that Amex isn't as widely accepted as Visa/Mastercard.

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Peter
Thanks for info on Thos Cook deal. Again restrictive presumably to TC holidays . We tend to use the local Travelcare agent and currently get the card payment discount from them as regular customers. Very often we can get up to 10% off the brochure price as well, particulary for short notice hols.

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Have you thought about the Thomas Cook Cook credit card, this gives you specific money off holidays booked via Thomas Cook but there are very few restrictions on this and it works out around 2.5% cashback in terms of discount off your holiday. Also if you pay for the holiday in Thomas Cook using the card they waive the card booking fee.

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Peter
Further to my earlier comments have checked out the GE deal. Limitation is that the 3% cash back refers only to purchases of groceries and fuel. Rate is 0.5% on all other purchases. Our big spends are on holidays so GE deal limited but not unattractive for purchase of groceries and fuel if we were to choose to be selective in the use of our cards.

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Peter
Thanks yr prompt reply. Morgan Stanley was one of the companies I looked at and spoke to but no guarantee was mentioned even until December 2006. I am looking for a longer term arrangement ( we are currently with Goldfish ) and will check out GE although I have reservations about the ethics of this company. Will advise you of any negatives which I come across.
Regards

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Thanks for your comments. Morgan Stanley was one of the cardson which I requested substantiation of the Cash Back deal . I was not advised even of the 'firm till December' deal .Will check out the GE deal but am not a fan of this company's ethics and am not hopeful. Willa dvise if I see any major negatives in the deal.

Re: Cash Back Credit Cards
Hi Tom
The problem you'll find here is the cashback on these cards is considered a benefit, which can be pulled at any time by the card provider. Saying that, Morgan Stanley have got a guarantee on their cards that they will guarantee 2% cashback until December this year. GE have also recently launched their card offering up to 3% cashback however there is no saying how long this will be on offer until.
Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help.
