Re: Direct debit overpayments N Power

    N POWER ARE S**T!

I have both gas and electricity with them. Just recently they sent me a letter saying that I was £139.00 in credit with my electricity. They then said that my new monthly amount was going from £39 a month to £139! I only live in a 2 bed town house and was amazed at the big price jump! Anyway I gave them accurate meter readings and they agreed to keep my direct debit the same amount. I have now received another bill stating that I am now £243 in credit but owe them nearlly £1000! I am using 57kwh of electricity a day apparantly! I phoned and gave them yet another meter reading and they are now saying it's a lower reading than last time!

I'm at my wits end and have decided to cancel my direct debit until they can sort this mess out!

EDF energy for me now I think!

Re: Direct debit overpayments N Power

I have to agree with the posts that complain about Npower they are unreal we have only got electricity with them (thank god) but they have been charging us for econ-7 for over 4 years (when we have informed them @leat 5 times that we don't use econemy 7) this was supposidly sorted out but our bills were so dear (£128.00 per month) that i kept insisting that they change the meter to get to the bottom of this fault (if their was one) but needless to say it never happened, anyway we paid for nearly 2 years a fixed payment plan to repay our shortfall off which we did not agree with (struggled through being as im on incapacity bennifit) Whooopeee in september 2008 we got our paper bill through and low and behold we were almost £500 in credit LOVLY then to top it off we got a letter confirming this saying only pay £50.00 a month from now on ! hurrahh.

Happy new year January comes and so to does our new 3 month bill ! (sept 08 was the previous) THIS IS WHERE YOU SHOULD HOLD ONTO YOUR SEATS !! £900.00 for a 3 bed semi ! So now our £500.00 credit has turned into a £400.00 DEPT.

HOW CONVEINIENT IS THAT Now we will start again no doubt. (Sorry for the spelling mistakes).

Npower Ha STAY WELL CLEAR OF THESE JOKERS.

Re: Direct debit overpayments N Power

What can I say except 'Good luck' with npowers so-called customer service...I certainly wouldn't trust them one little bit any more.
After FIVE YEARS of complaints and receiving bills (for gas alone) of up to £360 per month!! from these cowboys they made my life a complete misery, not listening to my side of the arguments, literally abusing me over the phone, charging me an administration charge of £26 for simply sending me a bill, threatening to send the bailiffs round to my home to take my property and then taking me to court no less than three times, each time for which I might add the decision went AGAINST them, especially when I showed magistrates the abusively high, grossly overestimated bills that they continued to send.
The magistrates in court eventually told npower to 'amicably' settle the matter with me, something of which I AM STILL WAITING for them to do over one year after the last court appearance.

TO SAY THAT NPOWER ARE UNTRUSTWORTHY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT......TRUST THEM AT YOUR PERIL!

    Direct debit overpayments N Power

I pay a direct debit monthly for my electricity and asked for a bill when I read my meter. I have been told that I am £700 plus in credit. I asked for a refund for such a large overpayment. I have been kept waiting for a refund since 7 July. I was told I would receive a cheque by 17 July. It didnt arrive so I chased it up again and I was told that it should arrive by the end of this week. I am told that the reason Ihave had to wait is because there wasn't a manager to authorise the cheque. Now there is a manager available the cheque it seems it will still take 10 days to arrive - why should it take so long? I couldn't tell NPower to wait whilst my husband authorised a cheque if I was owing £700 I am sure! Any comments?
