    Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible

even though your in a contract ,you dont have to pay for a sevice you are not getting,
keep up your direct debit agreement so you are not at fault, wait till you get back online, then you know exactly how long you have not had a sevice
then write to their headquarters, tell them you want refunded for the time off line, remind them that they were in breech of contract, not you,you kept up your end and continued to pay
keep a note of all correspondance.
if this fails contact offcom or office of fair trading,
if none of this works contact a tv consumer programme, they will certainly look into extreme cases
and companies cant afford bad press ,especialy on media such as television

ps remember technical support lines at 50p a minute are for problems that you need help with ie- setting up your pc,instalation help, configuration support
you should not have to pay fpremium rate when the fault is out of your hands ie- the network is down, you are running slow because of their server eqquipment,
    demand all this money back.
or telephone their local rate and demand answers (tell them your not paying premium rate for something thats not your fault)
remember keep all correspondance (dates, times on call, whom you were speaking to, what they said)
if we were more like the americans, we would not get shafted as much in the first place.

summary :- complain complain complain and get waht you paid for, nothing less

    Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible

I must speak in Orange's defence, I've been with them nearly 2 years & never had a jot of bother. When they changed from Wanadoo to Orange I took advantage of the free bb with a mobile phone contact & it's been great. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones but I can only speak from experience. By the way I work for one of the biggest bb providers in the country but don't use them!!

    Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible

    Hi Woods,

I had the same problem with my broadband kept cutting off every few minutes it was worse at night between 10pm and midnight, called them up several times but got nowhere kept giving me the same old rubbish about testing the line for this and that so as soon as my 12 months contract was up I cancelled, I was with them for 2 years and when it was Wanadoo had no problems at all but as soon as it came to the 24 July and Orange took over thats when it all went wrong straight down the pan, so now I'm with Virgin.Net on dial-up and with OnSpeed so who needs broadband its great loads up web pages in no time I would highly recommend it.

    Hi
I have been with wanadoo /orange for quite along time now first on dial up then broadband now on wireless broadband never had a problem that was wanado's fault directly
however their help team needs some modification and people skills
I have a friend who joined talk talk and just could not set it up , after 3 vists to his house I managed it for him , there was a plus though while at his house i met a gorgeous young lady (not his wife)
I have another friend who has just applied for talk talk I wonder if he knows what he is in for
I was considering t t but now not to sure

    Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible

    Hi

Just to let you know that your not the only one. They stated that this problem was only affecting users in Manchester & Leeds. I had no Internet access for over 2 months. Their service is the worst I have ever experienced. They arrange to call you back but then never do stating they only take inbound calls. You only ever get through to the call centre in India. (What goods that). When you e-mail them they hardly ever respond. I sent over 15 e-mails and only got a response from 6. I complained so much that they gave me 6 months free and refunded me £30 for all the phone calls. Just to let you know that you don't have to ring the 50p a minute number. Check out: saynoto0870.com it lists all the free numbers.

I've been a customer for the last 10 years when it was originally Freeserve and they have been good but now Orange have taken over it's all gone down hill. When my free months are up i'm gonna switch to Sky.

You're not pulling any punches about Orange and who can blame you Woods. I'd like to think your case was an isolated incident but I'm not so sure, I think there might several people out there with the same experience.

If there is anyone who has suffered similar problems with Orange then send in your experiences and let us know what you think about Orange.

    Wanadoo Orange are terrible

My Broadband is down over 4 weeks now and the service from orange is terrible. Also to call them costs 50p per minute and you must continue with monthly cost if in a contract. Their customer services dept are arrogant. Avoid at all costs. Joining them was one of the worst decisions i ever made.
