They haven't been quangoed. They are just overworked and underpaid civil servants that aren't even pretending to do their jobs any more.

Your creditors will have been paid their share of the £18,000 but your IVA will remain on your credit reference fore 6 years. You can also ask the credit reference agencies to correct their records to show your debts have been satisfied via the IVA.

I believe it would be prudent to return to the OR who has dealt with and has some history of your case, they will surely be in the most advantageous position to help answer your queries.

    Problems with RTLU Swansea

I had an IVA set up through the Official Receiver which was then administered by the Insolvency Service: RTLU in Swansea. I made my final payment to them in April 2011 and they told me that it would all be completed by October 2011.

However, the credit accounts included in the IVA are STILL showing as "Open" on my credit file and this is now seriously starting to affect my ability to get my finances back in order.

I have written to them asking for an update on my account and have also tried to phone them but just keep getting an answerphone and no-one has replied to me.

Were they a government quango that has been wound up? What has happened to the £18,000 I paid to them? Will my creditors ever get paid?

    Help!
